A large coalition for clean energy jobs has been formed in Illinois and includes some recognizable names, including the Environmental Defense Fund. This fight is a movement against the stagnant energy market which has failed to create new jobs, adhere to better energy standards and create a better reliability. This coalition for clean energy jobs is a group that is focused on better energy practices for the state as a whole, not just an economic boost in jobs for the state.
Meanwhile, Excelon is rumored to be seeking a a bailout for as much as $580 million from the residents of Illinois to prevent closures of nuclear plants that generate electricity for the state now. Illinois is a deregulated energy state allowing consumer choice for electric and natural gas supply. This alone is a great start for an any energy improvements within a state but Illinois needs to continue the path of disruption in the market and this coalition for clean energy jobs.
